Eucharistic Procession

Two Sundays after Pentecost every year we celebrate the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. This year it is June 3. It is a particular Sunday to set aside to remember that, when Jesus sent us His Spirit at Pentecost to be with us until the end of time (Matthew 28:20), he also gave us Himself in the appearance of bread and wine (Matthew 26:26). When we receive Him and adore Him in the Blessed Sacrament, we open our hearts and souls to receive His Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is common then for a parish to do a Eucharistic procession after Mass on this feast for a few reasons:

1. To take our faith into the streets

2. To remain always prayerful in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament

3. And to remind us that we all are part of the body of Christ and therefore we need to see Christ in our neighbour.

This year in Zenon Park we will be making a short walk around town during which you are welcome to join us for song and rosary, or if you are unable, to stay in your pew and pray, or keep a spirit of prayer in your hearts as you return to your homes and about your Sunday.

Mass is at 11am and the procession will follow immediately after.

God bless!
